Lake Nakuru one of the rift valley lakes is a shallow alkaline lake with no out flow and is located in The Eastern African Rift Valley in Nakuru County, Kenya. The lake is approximated to be 150km from Nairobi, taking about 3 hours’ drive. The lake is part of the lake Nakuru National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including vast numbers of pink flamingos which line up on the shores of lake Nakuru.
The park is also home to a number of wildlife species such as; Baboons, zebras, lions, buffalos, a sanctuary protecting the Rothschild giraffe, black and white rhinos and more than 300 bird species. Attractions found at the park include; Makalia falls, Baboon cliff, Lion Hill.
